So Im using the SmartFetch program. Ive gone through HOLD, EAR PINCH, TRANSITION TO GROUND...my dog does great with all those phases. She knows and responds well. I've done 2 sessions with the e-collar so far but it doesn't really seem like she is connecting the transfer from ear pinch pressure to ecollar pressure. When I use ecollar pressure she keeps her mouth clamped shut...and yes Im still using the ear pressure at the same time.
Am I missing a step? She does know what FETCH means. Could it be Im not praising her enough? Ive CC'd her to COME and SIT already. Could she think the pressure is to make her SIT? I don't know...has anyone had this issue before?
Thanks for any info.

Patience! I will be assuming you have the problem taken care of by now. Most dogs will not pick up a concept that you are teaching them in only two sessions. It takes many repetitions (attrition) of a concept for the dog to understand. It sounds like you are doing everything correct, but expecting too much to soon with the e-collar. Make sure the collar is on the low setting. Good luck.
